Joanne Kline
Joanne Kline (1949-2024) was a consulting conservation ecologist focused on restoring and managing natural lands, planning landscape scale conservation, and adapting to climate change. She worked nationwide, mainly in the Western Great Lakes region, after 23 years with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources as a water resources biologist, waterways regulator, environmental analyst, and as a liaison to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. Joanne joined WGF and its Public Trust and Wetlands Work Group in 2017 where she looked at how changes in Federal wetland policy may affect Wisconsin. She also supported WGF’s Monroe County Climate Change & Economic Opportunity Assessment, identifying land use and infrastructure vulnerabilities and practical opportunities to address them.
