Paul LaLiberte
Paul worked for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) in a variety of positions related to water quality for 36 years, retiring in 2016. During his work in the Water Resources Program and later as a supervisor in several programs, he acquired a reputation as an advocate of science-based decision making. Prior to that, he worked for a private engineering firm and for the US Fish & Wildlife Service. Paul received a master’s degree from UW La Crosse – River Studies Center, and he served on Wisconsin’s Green Fire’s Board, setting up the administrative infrastructure for the organization. Paul now serves as the Chair of WGF’s Environmental Rules and Water Resources Work Group.
In his free time, Paul volunteers at a homeless shelter and several soup kitchens in Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls. In addition to learning tennis and bike rides, Paul likes to share his love of Wisconsin’s outdoors with his children and grandchildren.
