Spring Appeal 2025 – Help WGF Grow!

Wisconsin's Green Fire, April 15, 2025

We need you to help us grow.

Happy spring! Earth Day is almost here. Spring is a critical time of growth in nature, but also for our organization. As a small 501c3 nonprofit, we depend on your generous support throughout the year. Thanks to donors like you, we’ve become a leading organization for science and conservation in Wisconsin.

Did you know that most of our funding at Wisconsin’s Green Fire (WGF) comes from private individuals and families? This community of supporters keeps us nimble and strong! Yet, we aren’t exempt from the direct impacts of recent federal funding pauses. At WGF, we are experiencing disruptions in funding for ongoing and planned projects in 2025. But no matter what, we remain committed to this work and our values.

Every member of WGF plays an important role in upholding our mission and vision. No matter the size of your gift, we consider you a treasured supporter. Will you give to support WGF during our spring 2025 fundraising appeal? Thank you for your support!

Have you felt overwhelmed or baffled by the disruptions to environmental laws, federal funding pauses, and daily (or hourly) changes in conservation news? Watch the video below!

In this April 2025 video, WGF volunteer Kate Reilly describes how WGF helps her “channel the anger into doing something positive.

For Kate—and perhaps for you—that “positive thing is helping organizations like Green Fire do what they do!”

Not just scientists

Our supporters come from all walks of life! Many are scientists and subject-matter experts, but we are also teachers, business-owners, artists, parents, gardeners, and more! What we all share is a commitment to science-based conservation. We all care about clean water, clean air, rich biodiversity, and healthy ecosystems in Wisconsin and beyond.

A gift of any amount makes you a member. Click here to donate today.

You can also give a gift membership! Complete our gift membership form here.

Student membership is free! We focus on college and graduate students, but students of all ages are welcome.

Our shared values shape our work

We’re staying true to our shared values across the organization. We are not censoring our word choices. We’re never shying away from the science on topics like climate change, sustainability, water quality, or endangered species. We remain committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice.

We are staying the course on our values, our integrity, and our work. To make that perfectly clear, the WGF Board of Directors voted unanimously at our April board meeting to reaffirm our commitment to:

  • our strategic priorities around climate, sustainable agriculture, biodiversity, contaminants like PFAS, and support for new generations of conservationists;
  • our land acknowledgement; and
  • our respect for traditional ecological knowledge.
