WGF Media Statement: Wisconsin’s Green Fire Applauds Selection of Preston Cole as DNR Secretary

Madison, WI – Wisconsin’s Green Fire is encouraged by Governor-Elect Evers’ selection of Preston Cole as the Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Preston Cole comes to the position of DNR Secretary with extensive experience in natural resources management and a deep knowledge of conservation issues facing Wisconsin. Mr. Cole has a long history serving on the Natural Resources Board, including serving as a past chair, giving him insight into the breadth and complexity of the DNR’s work. The Natural Resources Board is the policy setting body for the DNR. He was appointed to the Board by Democratic Governor Jim Doyle and re-appointed by Republican Governor Scott Walker, speaking to Mr. Cole’s professionalism and respect by leaders across the political spectrum.
