Kerry Beheler
Since 1980, Kerry has been involved in wildlife and veterinary health pathology and diagnostic investigations, including serving as a Wildlife Health Specialist with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, investigating and evaluating diseases of Wisconsin wildlife. Kerry has been a member of WGF since the beginning in 2017. She is an active member of both the Wildlife and Climate & Energy Work Groups.
Kerry is a member of the Science Council as she supports science-based practices combined with a long-term vision for environmental protection and natural resources management. She believes a healthy ecosystem is paramount for the health of all living creatures and communities, as health is inextricably linked to habitat and we must choose the means to ensure ecosystem health.
Kerry has also been a Wisconsin volunteer naturalist and habitat restoration technician since 2010, an Audubon Christmas Bird Count volunteer coordinator since 2009, a Wildlife Science Advisory member of the Wisconsin Sierra Club, and a citizen member of the Mount Horeb Sustainability and Natural Resources Committee.
Kerry’s interests and hobbies include her family, pets, hiking, bird watching, upland game bird hunting, gardening, habitat restoration, environmental education, wildlife advocacy, and making home canned products for local farmers’ markets.
