Join us on August 16, 2025 for this free, family friendly event in Birnamwood. Come and enjoy nature and science with us! This event is hosted by Mark and Carrie Asplund, two generous WGF supporters and volunteers. During the event, we will hear from featured speakers, plus you can explore over two miles of trails on the Asplund’s restored prairie in Central Wisconsin with lush grasses, flowers, and wildlife.

Featured Speaker: Neil Diboll
Our featured speaker is Neil Diboll of Prairie Nursery, prairie expert and author of The Gardener’s Guide to Prairie Plants. Neil will speak on genetic diversity and plan preservation with themes of climate change and pollinators.
We are delighted to also highlight Marge Gibson of Raptor Education Group, Inc. (REGI), a renowned wildlife rehabilitator. Marge may bring a real-life raptor with her!
WGF’s very own Terry Daulton will also be leading a plein-air art activity for kids and grown-ups!
