WGF’s Fall 2025 Fundraising Appeal
By the light of the Beaver Moon
This time of year, when darkness comes early in the crisp autumn evenings, many of us around Wisconsin come in from our days spent outdoors to gather by the fireplace with good books and cozy blankets. What if you spent just a little longer outside? We’re in for a celestial treat this fall with three supermoons illuminating our night skies.
Rachel Carson, the iconic conservationist and writer of Silent Spring, once said, “The aim of science is to discover and illuminate truth.” Lately, with all the setbacks and politicization of science and conservation, it can feel like that bright light of science is getting smothered. Yet, at Wisconsin’s Green Fire, we’re committed to keeping the light of science burning strongly. Every night, we can turn to the moon to remind us of light growing in the darkness.

Our light shines brighter together.
Donations from people like you make up more than three-quarters of our annual budget. Plus, fall is our most important time of year for fundraising. Like so many plants and animals around Wisconsin, we are preparing for next year. We need you with us.
This month is the Beaver Moon. We feel a sense of camaraderie with the beaver who never gives up. Beavers never tire of rebuilding their dams. We never tire of advancing science-based actions and policies to protect clean water, clean air, rich biodiversity, and healthy ecosystems for all people (and our more-than-human communities) around Wisconsin.
We urge you to stay positive and stay in the fight with us. Look for our emails and social media posts as we journey through the phases of the moon together. We wish you joyful persistence in this work we do together as voices for conservation for many moons to come. Thank you for supporting our vital work.
Read our Annual Report for 2024.
Included with our fall mailing to WGF supporters and friends, you’ll find a copy of our 2024 Annual Report. Our Annual Reports are one way we commemorate and share highlights from our impactful, science-based work. You will find overviews of our program work in 2024, our events, and our outreach around this great state of Wisconsin. We also provide some financial reporting for 2024.
Most importantly, the report is a place to share our deep gratitude for this community of supporters who make our work possible. Thank you for being one of our voices for conservation! We hope you’ll share WGF with your friends, family, and neighbors to help us shine under the light of the moon and our collective “green fire!”
